Sustainability

Modest, verifiable, and short on purpose.

What we do

  • The kit outlasts the habit it replaces. A curling wand draws 40–50 W for half an hour a day. This draws nothing, ever, and hand-washed it lasts years.
  • Small parcels. The kit ships flat in a mailer, not a box with air in it.
  • Returned kits are not binned. Anything that comes back unused goes back into stock. Anything used goes to staff or is donated, never to landfill as policy.

What we don't claim

The satin is polyester. It is not silk, it is not biodegradable, and calling it "eco satin" would be marketing, not fact. The mailer is recyclable where soft-plastic collection exists, which in much of Australia it currently doesn't.

We have no carbon-neutral certification, no offset programme and no B-Corp status. If that changes we'll say so here, with the certificate number.

Caring for yours

Hand wash in lukewarm water, air dry flat, don't iron. The single biggest sustainability decision around this product is whether you still own it in three years.

The part most shops leave out

The kit is manufactured in China and flown to Australia. Air freight is the least efficient way to move anything, and buying one small parcel from overseas is not an environmentally virtuous act. We are not going to dress that up.

What we can honestly say is narrower: this product replaces a daily heat habit and, if you keep it, it stops being shipped again. That is the whole environmental case, and it is smaller than the ones you will read elsewhere.

Why there is no green badge on this page

Under Australian Consumer Law an environmental claim has to be specific, substantiated and not misleading — and the ACCC has been actively pursuing vague ones. "Sustainable", "eco-friendly" and "carbon neutral" are exactly the words we cannot back with a document, so we do not use them. Every line above is something you could verify by holding the product or reading a supplier invoice.

If we get it wrong

If anything on this page turns out to be inaccurate, write to lunelle.shop.support@gmail.com. We will correct it here and say what changed, rather than quietly editing the sentence.
